Overview of the Program
Students are bound to have conflicts with peers over the course of their school careers. These conflicts tend to be unproductive, ruin relationships, takes time away from academics and or can lead to violence.
This peer mediation training workshop is an effective way for schools to decrease violence and empower students to better deal with the difficult situations they experience at school and later as members of society
Who Should Attend
The objective of the solid peer mediation program is to helps schools become safe and respectful learning environments.
Eligibility Requirements: This workshop will be open to Upper Primary Pupils, Students in Secondary Schools, Colleges and Universities
Program Content
This program promotes critical thinking, builds decision making skills, develops healthy standards of relationship within the school community and supports student self-determination all valuable tools in an increasingly violent and disconnected world.
Objectives of the program
- Empowers students with the skills and strategies for dealing with conflict;
- Develops communication and decision-making tools that influence choices in the future and increase leadership potential;
- Helps students gain perspective and understanding of themselves, others and their issues;
- Improves school climate by building relationships;
- Reduces the alienation, disenfranchisement and powerlessness that many students
- Builds a strong sense of cooperation within the school community in order to address disputes that interfere with learning.
Course Prerequisites
The course is designed for professionals from all fields and those willing to engage in shared learning.
Format
To bring the lessons to life, participants will engage in several role-play simulations that mirror real-life disputes. The program also includes lectures; debrief sessions, and interactive discussions, as well as opportunities to watch the latest mediation practice videos in the industry.

A Peer Mediation Practice Manual plus e-material will be provided to participants.
